Delta Air Lines says it did quite well in the second quarter of 2010. CLICK MORE for details.
There use to be practically nothing but red tails out at Metro Airport when Northwest was king. Now, thanks to the “merger,” Delta is the 900 pound gorilla in Romulus with a gazillion blue and red tails sticking into the air. And the carrier says it did well during the second quarter of the year.
Delta Air Lines earned 467 million dollars during the quarter compared to a loss of 257 million dollars during the same period last year.
Delta is the world’s largest airline and connects Detroit with the world flying non-stops to such international destinations as London, Amsterdam, Rome, Tokyo, Nagoya, Seoul, Shanghai and Hong Kong. Delta uses the world’s longest range plane on that 7,831 mile flight between Detroit and Hong Kong, the Boeing 777-200LR Worldliner. The jet has a maximum range of nearly 10,000 miles.
