WCBS reports that Grace Slick will appear on a recording for the first time in more than a decade to raise money for Louisiana fishermen and musicians whose livelihoods are affected by the Gulf oil spill.

Slick has will team up with  Michelle Mangione to write “The Edge of Disaster.”  The song will be recorded with over 20 artists including Bill Medley of The [lastfm]Righteous Brothers[/lastfm] and No Doubt guitarist Tom Dumont.

“The Edge of Disaster” is available for download at www.GrammyMuseum.org with all proceeds going to The Greater New Orleans Foundation Gulf Oil Spill Fund and the MusiCares Foundation.
