Catfish Collins Dead At 66

[lastfm]Parliament-Funkadelic[/lastfm] guitarist (and Bootsy Collins‘ brother), Phelps “Catfish” Collins headed off to the mothership last friday.  He died after a long battle with cancer at age 66 in Cincinnati.

Reuters reports that  Bootsy Collins said in a statement “my world will never be the same … Be happy for him, he certainly is now and always has been the happiest young fellow I ever met on this planet.”

Catfish Collins was known for his work with [lastfm]Parliament-Funkadelic[/lastfm], [lastfm]Bootsy’s Rubber Band[/lastfm], and [lastfm]The J.B.’s[/lastfm]
