As September 18 and the 40th anniversary of the death of [lastfm]Jimi Hendrix[/lastfm] approach fans are discovering his music all over again. The internet gives even an armchair enthuisiast access to rare video and music recordings and it’s surprising what little gems are just a youtube search away.

In 1965 [lastfm]Jimi Hendrix[/lastfm] played guitar on a Nashville TV show called Night Train. Hendrix is seen in the background during ‘Shotgun’ by [lastfm]Buddy & Stacy[/lastfm] as part of the [lastfm]Crown Jewels[/lastfm] ([lastfm]Little Richard[/lastfm]’s back-up band.)

[photogallerylink id=28150 align=left]It’s considered the earliest Hendrix performance caught on film and it’s on youtube! The dancing alone is worth watching and everybody knows the best way to make a cheesy dance even better is to implement high waisted pants and giant sleeves. I think I even saw the macarena in there somewhere.
