Visitors to Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, CA are not allowed to enter the [lastfm]Michael Jackson[/lastfm]‘s mausoleum but they can leave flowers for a price.
According to TMZ the cemetery has resorted to charging a fee to place flowers in MJ’s mausoleum. Teddy bears, posters, picture frames, candles etc. will be discarded and if available space runs out within the mausoleum for flowers then they will be left outside the building.
The cost to leave flowers for MJ is $3.
Now I understand the cemetery has to employ people to place and discard the flowers but couldn’t that $3 be spent more wisely? Instead of spending $3 to place more flowers in an overcrowded room of flowers Michael Jackson fans could honor the King of Pop by donating to a non-profit organization in his honor. It’s an action MJ himself would surely approve of. In his lifetime Jackon donated over $300 million of his personal wealth to charity.
