A film base on the folklore of [lastfm]Michael Jackson[/lastfm]‘s “Thriller”  is reportedly being pitched.  Yahoo! Music reports GK Films is first in line for the project which has a budget of  budget of about $50 million not including music rights.

GK Films is currently working on Sacha Baron Cohen’s Freddie Mercury biopic.  Kenny Ortega, director of This Is It, is likely to direct the project.  Others involved include screenwriter Jeremy Garelick and ”Thriller” songwriter Rod Templeton.
