Goodwill, Salvation Army Stores Doing Well

Even though the jaws of the recession may be letting go just a bit, these are still tough times.  And as the holidays approach, charity stores are doing an ever increasing business.

Shoppers are looking for more affordable items this holiday season and one place they are turning is to charity shops.  Business continues to be very good for such retail outlets as Goodwill and the Salvation Army.

These stores offer gently used clothing, toys, tableware, furniture and other items.   The Salvation Army has a store locator.  Just enter your zip code in the far right corner.

Goodwill also has a website with a store locator.

Another shopping option is St. Vincent de Paul.  They have a number of thrift shops in Metro Detroit and location information can be found here.

This is a win, win situation in these tough times.  You get some great deals and at the same time you help these fine charities continue their good work!
