First the new Chevy Volt started rolling off the assembly line in Hamtramck. Then it was Ford’s turn with the first of the new 2011 Explorers being completed at the Chicago Assembly Plant.
Ford launched the first Explorer some twenty years ago. And during that time span, the company has sold an estimated 6 million Explorers making it one of the most successful SUVs ever.
With the economy starting to turn the corner and Detroit’s Big-3 doing well and adding jobs in the Detroit area, 2011 should be a good year.
