The AP reports that Florida Gov. Charlie Crist is considering a pardon for the late Jim Morrison for indecent exposure dating back to a concert on March 1, 1969.

Gov. Crist has asked his staff to research the incident. Crist wants the indecent exposure and profanity charges dropped because there is lingering doubt that Morrison actually exposed himself at the concert.

“It is very important to prosecute the guilty, but it is more important to exonerate the innocent, and I can’t help to have that over and over in my mind with Jim Morrison,” Crist said. “The more I think about it the more I think an injustice was being done.”

I’m all for granting clemency to innocent people but couldn’t the governor of Florida and his staff spend time researching something else… like how to clean oil off their shores or improve the economy?  We’re talking a 41-year-old flashing here!
