NEW YORK (AP) — [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Michael Jackson[/lastfm] is the King of Pop, but he’s being challenged by the current queens of music.
Taylor Swift’s album “Speak Now” is No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart this week, followed by Susan Boyle’s “The Gift.” Their albums got in the way of Jackson’s first posthumous album, “Michael” hitting the top spot.
[photogallerylink id=15246 align=left]According to Nielsen SoundScan, “Speak Now” sold 259,000 units and “The Gift” 254,000 units. Jackson’s album debuted at No. 3 with 228,000 copies sold.
Though he’s not No. 1, Jackson’s album sold more than 3 million units worldwide. “Michael” debuted at No. 1 in Germany, Italy, Sweden and the Netherlands. It also made its way to the Top 5 in the United Kingdom, Japan, France, Belgium and Denmark.
