HONG KONG (AP) — China is mulling over whether to let[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Bob Dylan[/lastfm] play there. He was supposed to perform in Beijing and Shanghai last year but the dates were canceled. A Dylan fan magazine says he’ll play there in April, although those dates aren’t on his web site.
Fans in China say the shows were called off because of a financial dispute with the Taiwanese promoter. The promoter says the shows were canceled because China demanded Dylan sign a pledge promising “not to hurt the feelings of the Chinese people.”
