[photogallerylink id=46725 align=right] [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Aretha Franklin[/lastfm]’s first album in eight years, A Woman Falling Out of Love, will drop on June 3, 2011. Now, Franklin is opening up about her plans to tour in 2011.
Franklin talked to Pollstar about her anticipation of touring, saying, “I am very excited. I can’t wait to get on. Can’t wait to get on. I’ve got some really great material, some new things that I’ve put into concert. We have, as usual, something for everybody.”
When asked if she was rehearsing she responded, “Oh sure. I’ve been rehearsing at home. I do seven, eight songs at a time, three to four times a week.”
But don’t assume the Queen of Soul has been a home body rather she’s been out and about promoting. Expect to see her popping up on every channel. She admits her promotion schedule is packed; “After I do The View on Thursday and do Jimmy Fallon Friday night, I may do Rachael Ray before I leave the city. Then I’m going back to Detroit for about five days, and then the Chicago Theatre on the 19th, then the Seneca Hotel & Casino on the 28th. After that it’s the Toronto Jazz Festival. It’s a full schedule. Not too much though! I’m pacing it! I’m pacing it!”
If that weren’t enough, Franklin’s also planning a vacation and taking piano classes! Read the entire interview.
