Canada's Big 4 Hitmakers

Today we take the bridge (or tunnel) across the river for the Big 4 at 4 on WOMC.

It’s back to back Canadian Bacon on today’s Big 4 at 4 countdown on 104.3 womc. A lot of great music has come out of the Great White North. It was hard to pick just 4, but I think we nailed it!

The Big 4 at 4 Canadian Hitmakers:

4) Magic Man-[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Heart[/lastfm]. Ann and Nancy Wilson are from L.A. via Seattle, but the band got its start in Vancouver, B.C. I interviewed the sisters when I worked in Seattle, they’re very cool ladies!

3) Carefree Highway-[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Gordon Lightfoot[/lastfm]. A Canadian themed countdown has to have a [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Gordon Lightfoot [/lastfm]song!

2) Summer of ’69-[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Bryan Adams[/lastfm]. A song about 1969 from 1985. Confused?

1) American Woman-[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Guess Who[/lastfm]. It could only happen in Canada:[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Randy Bachman[/lastfm] claimed the band came up with the idea for this song at a curling rink ! It was their first U.S. hit.
