While promoting his tour in Detroit, MI he took the time to perform a live acoustic version of his song “One More Soldier Coming Home” which he wrote to honor the sacrifices of U.S. troops.

We’re supporting the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, so all the money goes to the widows and widower of the Iraq and Afghani conflict… It’s called “One More Soldier Coming Home” we’re gonna send it out to the troops, the men and women who so gallantly give up their lives and serve our country so proudly in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

Eddie Money recently blogged about the newly released song:

“Since 9/11, more than 6,000 American servicemen and women have died in Iraq and Afghanistan, and at least 40,000 more have been wounded.  I don’t bring these numbers up to discuss politics or to point any fingers, but instead because I think it’s important for us to recognize the sacrifices made by these brave men and women.  Many of our soldiers have made the ultimate sacrifice and it’s up to us to honor and support them. That’s why I’ve decided to donate every penny I make from this song to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.  I’m putting the pedal to the metal and doing everything I can to raise money for this non-profit.
