On Friday night [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Donovan[/lastfm] performed at London’s Royal Albert Hall and Jimmy Page showed up to back him up on “Sunshine Superman” with the help of the London Contemporary Orchestra.

The encore also included Jimmy Page on “Mellow Yellow.”

Rolling Stone reports that at an after party Donovan explained Page’s soft spot for folk, “Though he’s known for his power guitar, Jimmy is a real folk aficionado” said Donovan.

Sitting nearby Page agreed with Donovan, “A lot of my songs were written on the acoustic guitar. And so much of the first album of Led Zeppelin was acoustic too.”
