James Brown’s Ex-Publicist Says ‘The Godfather Of Soul’ Was Murdered
[photogallerylink id=85277 align=left] [lastfm link_type="artist_info"] James Brown[/lastfm]‘s ex-publicist, Jacque Hollander, has hired a private detective to investigate the 2006 death of ‘the Godfather of Soul.’
Public record states Brown died in 2006 from a fatal heart attack at the age of 73. Spinner reports Hollander is convinced that Brown’s son-in-law, Darren “Chip” Lumar, was also murdered, in November 2008, after appearing on a local Georgia TV show where he claimed, “There’s not a bone in my body that believes my father-in-law died from congestive heart failure.”
Lumar was previously married to Brown’s daughter, Yamma Brown Lumar.
Hollander said “Now I am living in fear of my life because I’m the one who can bring forth the truth.”
It’s also noteworthy that Hollander filed rape charges against Brown in 2005 for an alleged rape in 1988 which she says resulted in a neurological disorder. The lawsuit was dropped due to the two-year statute of limitations on the allegation.
