[mp3com-artist]George Harrison[/mp3com-artist] would have turned 69 this week on Saturday, February 25, 2012.

Harrison often referred to as “the quiet Beatle” passed away on November 29, 2001 after a long battle with cancer.

Each year Harrison fans, like myself, spend sometime remembering Harrison, his music and his contributions to society.

George was my favorite Beatle and I’m sorry that I never got to see him play live after the Beatles at the Bowl and Dodger Stadium in the early ’60′s. Just before George passed, I saw Paul at the first Adopt-a-Minefield Gala in Beverly Hills and in my car I’d written in my head a poem about what George meant to me, I wanted him to give it to George. By the time I got there I didn’t get a chance to write it down, and was too nervous anyway to have given it to Paul. A lot of stars were there, a lot of people went and got Paul’s autograph, I just couldn’t get up the courage. Anyway, I think of George often, cry a little, and enjoy his music and happy in knowing that maybe he has heard these words. His Lord is with him and they are playing music together.
