Detroit Kennel Club Dog Show This Weekend At Cobo

Do you appreciate man’s best friend? Well Cobo Center is literally going to the dogs this weekend. It’s the Detroit Kennel Club Dog Show.

Cobo Center hosts the Detroit Kennel Club Dog Show this weekend. Technically the shows are the 108th (tomorrow) and 109th (Sunday) shows. I’ve never really understood that. To me, it’s just one weekend show but what do I know?

The shows are only one in five “benched” shows still left in the U.S. At least that’s what it says on the Detroit Kennel Club Dog Show website.

167 different breeds are expected at the show. Dogs will be “benched” tomorrow from 9am-5pm and they’ll be “benched” again on Sunday from 9am-4pm. I assume “benched” means shown!

By the way the Detroit Kennel Club says the German Shepherd is no longer the top dog in Detroit. The most popular dogs now are Yorkshire Terriers. German Shepherds are second and rounding out the rest of the top 10 dogs in Detroit:  Rottweilers, Labs, Schizos, Dobermans, Beagles, Poodles, Boxers and Bulldogs.

Personally I love all dogs and cats. But for me, give me Heinz 57. A fellow who really needs a good home for survival.
