Now, in an interview with 104.3 WOMC’s Jim Johnson, Springfield has opened up about the unexpected death of Davy Jones.

Springfield said; “I remember being seventeen and watching him on the TV before I came to America from Australia. I was a big Monkees fan and actually Davy came to see me play at the Troubadour when I first started playing over here in 1974 and I would see him on and off through the years. He was a great guy, really a born entertainer, one of those kind of people you know… in the right gig.” Springfield added “He was a very healthy guy and I think it was a big surprise. I can’t believe Keith Richards is out living all of these people! It’s Insane”
