Usher will play the role of 1980′s boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard in an upcoming movie!

The BBC reports Usher is jogging around London in preparation for his role in Hands Of Stone which tells the story of Panamanian boxer Roberto Durán.

Usher told he BBC, “I’m in preparation for a very incredible role. If you guys see me running around London that’s what it is. If you see me in the corners boxing. I’m doing that while working on this album.”

Usher will be in good company with Robert De Niro who has the part of boxing trainer Ray Arcell in the production.

Usher stated filming would start later this year.
