Deadmau5, Madonna Twitter Fued – Was She Referencing Ecstasy? What’s Your Opinion?

Madonna

In a public Twitter dispute musician Deadmau5 accused Madonna of making a reference to ecstasy on stage in front of thousands of fans. Madonna fired back saying her reference was unrelated to drugs.

At Miami’s Ultra Music Festival, Madonna took to the stage to introduce Avicii. She asked, “How many people in this crowd have seen Molly?”

Molly is a slang term for ecstasy, a drug known to be used by many electronic dance music fans.

In the heated Twitter debate Madonna claimed via a twit pic that she was referencing a song by Cedric Gervais who she “almost worked with on her album,” MDNA. How that is relevant to introducing Avicii I do not know. Besides, what is Gervais referencing if not drugs?

On Youtube user comments note further arguments that Madonna is referencing ecstasy pointing out that the title of her new album, MDNA is very close to MDMA, the chemical short hand for ecstasy.

I feel Madonna needs to answer some hard questions.  If indeed she is trying to look current by promoting deadly drugs she is one sad, sad lady.

What do you think?
