You don’t need a classic car to cruise Woodward this year! The Woodward Dream Cruise, Inc. has announced the inaugural Cruise In Shoes™ 5K Fun Run/Walk. It heads through the streets of Royal Oak, on the morning of August 18th ,2012, the same day as the 18th annual Woodward Dream Cruise.

The run/walk will begin at 7:30 am on Yorba Linda Blvd and gives walkers/runners a rare opportunity to run on historic Woodward Avenue, and continuing through several Royal Oak neighborhood streets and finishing at Shrine High School.

“The addition of the Cruise In Shoes 5K run is meant to bring more family fun to the Woodward Dream Cruise experience. We are urging runners and families to come out Dream Cruise morning and join in the fun. Even dress up as Elvis and have a blast that morning,” said Greg Rassel President, The Woodward Dream Cruise.

Anyone interested in participating in the Cruise In Shoes™ can register online here until August 16. Participants can also sign up for the event the day of the run at Royal Oak Shrine High School.
