During his show in Dublin, Bruce Springsteen brought up a lucky fan from the audience to sing with him. The boss grabbed six year old, Sophia Sutton to help him sing “Waitin’ On A Sunny Day” in front of 35,000 fans. “She went off with no hesitation at all, it was just amazing, a real highlight to a fantastic concert,” said Sophia’s father Paul Sutton.
Paul told Gigwise that they “were in the pit and I had Sophie on my shoulders. Bruce had spotted Sophie earlier and gave her a guitar pick. That was brilliant in itself, but when he came to picking someone from the audience he looked straight at her.”
This show also featured Springsteen and his bandmates poking fun at the London plug-pulling incident. The boss fired up a faux generator on stage and launched the concert where they were cut off, with Bruce saying “before we were so rudely interrupted…” After finishing off Twist & Shout, they launched in to a cover of “I Fought The Law.”
