Detroit’s own, Kid Rock has released a new song to honor the Detroit Lions. Rock’s new song, “In Detroit,” is part of Pepsi’s NFL Anthems series. It features artists, who are writing songs inspired by NFL teams.

“In Detroit” has all the makings of a rockin’ Detroit Anthem. It name drops Kid Rock’s beer (Bad Ass), Ford trucks, old english Ds, Motown, and hot rods. It addresses the tough times the city is facing with the line, “tough times don’t last, tough people do!”

“In Detroit” Lyrics

Bad Ass on draft and Big Ford trucks

We spend our days on the line and the nights lit up

We rock blue jeans, tees, old english Ds

So baby you best believe that’s how we do it in Detroit.

[Chorus]

That’s how we do it in Detroit

That’s how we do it in Detroit

Up in the d – d – d

We’re the real deal trick bout as real as it gets

We don’t pay that high class Hollywood shhhhhh

We don’t start drama, but if it’s around

Say hello to a Motown Throwdon. In Detroit.

[Chorus]

Yeah! That’s how we do it in the D baby.

Blue and Grey all the way and we come to play

So what’s up now dog?!

We’re the big rock fist with the can’t stop soul

The hot rod city always ready to roll

We get ya what you gotta get to see this through

Cause tough times don’t last, tough people do. In Detroit

[Chorus]

For all my people in Detroit

That’s how we do it in Detroit

For all my people in Detroit

That’s how we do it in Detroit

Up in the d – d – d – d
