September 19th, 2012 marks the 10th anniversary of International Talk Like A Pirate Day. It is a day to don an eye patch, call you best mate a “scurvy bilge rat” and head to a Pirate’s favorite restaurant, Arrrbys! That last one was a joke, but you get the point.
It is fun holiday started by John Baur and Mark Summers when they shouted pirate slang at each other while playing racquetball. With the help of nationally syndicated humor columnist, Dave Barry, the holiday gained national attention.
