The new Rolling Stones best of Greatest Hits album, GRRR!, will be released November 13th. The release features the first new songs from the Stones in 7 years. Both produced in Paris this past August and both produced by Detroit musician Don Was. According to Was, “Doom and Gloom” was written by Mick Jagger and “One More Shot” was written by Keith Richards. Both songs took only four days from start to finish.

Don Was (Don Faqgenson) was born in Detroit and graduated from Oak Park High School. Was is a bass player and had some commercial success as a musician in the 1980’s with schoolmate David Weiss in the group Was (Not Was).
Was has really earned his stripes as a record producer earning multiple Grammy Awards, including Producer of the Year in 1997, and has recorded with a number of artists like: The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Bob Seger, Al Green, Roy Orbison, BB King, Garth Brooks and many many others.
Was also has served as music director and consultant on a number of Movies such as “Thelma and Louise” “Tin Cup”, “Toy Story” and many others.
