I’m surprised that there is actually a word for this. Showrooming involves using your smart phone to find the best prices. By using the QuickScan app a person can scan a barcode which determines a user’s location, then locates the items that you want at the best price. In some cases a person can simply purchase the item on the phone and have it shipped while viewing it for a higher price in the store. Some power shoppers even use the app at grocery stores and liquor stores. It’s an easy way to find items cheaper near-by or on-line. More good news, because of showrooming, shoppers will see more QR codes in stores and they more are willing to match the prices of online products and promotions. The Denver Post has more here.
