First came a big uproar after reports surfaced that Beyonce lip-synced the “Star-Spangled Banner” at President Obama’s inauguration last Monday in Washington. Well now comes a report that the president, himself, lip-synced his own inaugural address!
The online tabloid Weekly World News, infamous for outlandish stories, is reporting that its sources say President Obama, fearful of muffing the address, decided that it would be safer to put it on tape and then pretend to be doing it live.
The tabloid says the president practiced the speech in front of a mirror earlier that morning but when push came to shove, he decided to put it on tape.
“Faking it” at the inauguration has happened before. Famed cellist Yo-Yo Ma, during the 2009 inauguration blow out in D.C., taped his piece and pretended to be playing his instrument live. It was very cold on that day making it nearly impossible to play a cello live, according to the artist.
