Final preparations are being made for Motown Winter Blast 2013 in downtown Detroit. The celebration’s focal point is Campus Martius Park and this year’s Blast will be the biggest and best.

The event is being held during the weekend of February 8th and at least 75,000 are expected to attend. The first Blast came in 2005 as a prelude to the Super Bowl at Ford Field.

There will be plenty of things to do for the entire family and don’t worry about the cold! We’re Detroiters, right? And besides there will be warming comfort stations every 150 feet.

There will be all the things you’ve come to love at the Motown Winter Blast this year including ice skating, delicious food and beverages, lots of music and entertainment and the always popular dog sled demonstrations.

New at the Blast this year will be free ice skating at the Campus Martius Rink for the first 250 guests, the yummy Girl Scout Cookie van and the Great Expressions Hockey Shot Competition. It’s your chance to win some really cool prizes.

Hours at the Blast are 11am-11pm Friday and Saturday and from 11am-9pm on Sunday, the final day.
