New Law Bans Tradition At Kids Birthday Parties

Okay, things are getting a little out of hand down under! If you plan on having cake for your son or daughters school birthday party, hold the candles! Australia’s Health Council says blowing out the candles spread germs, and will no longer be allowed in classroom celebrations.

Really? C’mon, mate! It’s Australia! Home of Madd Max, Crocodile Dundee and baby eating dingo’s, for blooming sake! You’re worried about a few little germs from a second graders cake?

Parents are a little upset, according to the story on Yahoo. They think this takes a lot of the fun out of a kids special day. I’d agree with that. I have a daughter. I get it, little kids tend to get dirty. They tend to get germy. They are going to catch colds. In other words, let them have their cake and candles. Let them be..well, kids!

What do you think of this idea?
