Monday’s Mutt – Meet Runner

Monday’s Mutt this week is a white German Shepherd named Runner. He’s 2-3 years old and was rescued from a horrible situation. Sadly, Runner was neglected and living in filth for his entire life until he was rescued.

Despite his horrible experience he has remained very sweet and loving. He loves people once he is comfortable with them. He also seems to get along well with cats.

Runner was bone skinny when he arrived at the Animal Welfare Society of Southeastern Michigan but with loving care, he has put on some weight and is looking for a home that can spoil him and show him what life with a family is supposed to be like.

Coming from such a tragic beginning Runner does have some issues that will need to be worked on. He has anxiety problems when left alone. He’ll do best with someoneĀ  who has owned shepherds before and understands their quirks and needs.

Runner seems to bond closely with one person and he would do best in an adult home without other dogs.

He really is a sweet dog and might be perfect for you and your family. For more information on Runner including adoption fees, please call AWS at (248) 548-1150. Or visit the shelter in person during regular hours of operation. They’re located on John R in Madison Heights.

AWS is proudly a no kill shelter and has been helping to save lives for more than 30 years.
