Elvis Costello Releases First Video From His Roots Collaboration

Elvis Costello and the Roots have released the video for their song “Walk Us Uptown.” It’s the first single from their upcoming collaborative album Wise Up Ghost. Opening with a few shots of Costello and Roots drummer Questlove sitting down at a windup record player, from there it becomes a lyric video.

Roots drummer Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson first announced the album in an interview with Billboard in January, where he described the collaboration as “love at first sight.” He explained that the artists bonded during Costello’s three Late Night With Jimmy Fallon appearances, where the Roots serve as house band.
