Pro football season just kicked off, but apparently it’s never too soon to start thinking about the Super Bowl. With that in mind, the NFL announced Sunday that Bruno Mars will play the Halftime Show on February 2nd at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The official announcement video featured four-year-old Bruno dressed as Elvis as well as highlights from his recent tour.
Bruno Mars comments on being selected as Super Bowl Halftime Show:
“Ah man, it’s just an honor. It’ an honor. We just got off tour so being able to come to New York City and announce this right now, it’s incredible. We’re celebrating. We’re celebrating, for sure.”
Mars joins such performers as Beyonce, Madonna, The Who, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Prince, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and U2 to perform at the big game.
Bruno Mars is asked if he’s concerned about the cold weather:
“Yeah, about that. You know what, at least it’s going to be at the Super Bowl, right?”
Bruno Mars is asked if he has any surprises at the Super Bowl:
Bruno Mars: “Umm. I mean it’s five months for now, so I got a couple phone calls to make and it’s gonna be good. It’s gonna be good.”
