Paul McCartney releases his first rock album in six years today (Tuesday) when “New” hits stores and digital retailers.

The album contains 13 tracks, one of which, “Scared,” is hidden. McCartney has been working on it for the past few years and ended up using four producers –- Giles Martin, son of Beatles producer George Martin; Ethan Johns, son of producer Glyn Johns; Paul Epworth, who has worked with Adele and others; and Mark Ronson, stepson of Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones. He tells us, “I was really looking for one producer, seeing if I got on with them, but I fell in love with all of them.”

If you buy a hard copy of “New”, Paul has a bit of advice on how to handle the packaging. He says, “Please be careful when removing the booklet and take it out through the front cover gap, rather than the inside gap. If you do, it could rip the cover. I only know this because I did it three times before I realized the booklet had to come out of the front gap! I hope you enjoy the music! And please pass this message on.” To help you get the booklet out, Macca has posted pictures on how to remove it on his website.
