Did John Lennon send a message during the recent Beatles’ celebrations?
According to Julian Lennon, his father once told him that should he pass away and “there was some way of letting me know he was going to be OK — that we were all going to be OK — the message would come to me in the form of a white feather.” Well, a funny thing recently happened in New York during all the hoopla surrounding the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ first trip to America.
Richard Porter, who leads tours of all the Beatle haunts in London, and Beatles tour guides Jackie Spencer from Liverpool and Susan Ryan from New York, were standing outside the Plaza Hotel (where the group stayed on that first trip) when a white feather fell on Porter and was caught by Jackie. Porter says, “We all got rather emotional.” And Susan adds, “The feather flew right past my face and landed on Richard and then into Jackie’s hand. There were over 40 witnesses — and being Beatles fans all, they all knew what it meant!”
