Roy Orbison: Documentary Screenings Announced

Screenings have been announced for the documentary on Roy Orbison and the making of his final album.

Mystery Girl: Unraveled will be shown May 12th in Toronto. A week later, it will screen at the Belcourt Theater in Nashville, with his sons WesleyAlex and Roy Orbison Junior on hand for an on-stage discussion of the film they wrote and executive produced. A screening and discussion will also be held at the Grammy Museum in L.A. on May 20th.

Directed by Alex Orbison, Mystery Girl: Unraveled details the song-by-song creation of the album through archival footage and the memories of those who were there. Tom Petty,BonoJeff LynneSteve CropperBilly BurnetteJohn Carter CashSteve Cropperand Roy’s widow Barbara Orbison all appear in the film. There is also footage of Orbison taken in Mike Campbell‘s garage, where much of Mystery Girl was recorded.

Mystery Girl: Unraveled will be included as a DVD in deluxe editions of the Mystery Girl reissue.
