Doobie Brothers guitarist Patrick Simmons and his wife Cris will be taking part in Motorcycle Cannonball Endurance Run 2014.
The charity event takes place from September 5th through the 21st and challenges the riders go more than 4000 miles from Daytona, Florida to Tacoma, Washington. The duo will be raising money for Stand Up for Cancer in honor of their son, Pat Simmons Junior, who overcame testicular cancer last year.
All the participants have to ride on bikes built before 1936, so Simmons will ride a 1929 Harley-Davidson JD while Cris has a 1934 Harley-Davidson named “Buddy.”
The Doobie Brothers perform here tomorrow night at Freedom Hill Amphitheater.
