Listen to Robin Gibb’s ‘Days of Wine and Roses’ from Upcoming Final Album

More than two years after his death, Robin Gibb‘s fans are preparing to hear his final album — and today we have our first sampling.

“Days of Wine and Roses,” taken from the phrase popularized by Oscar Wilde, begins as a piano balled, letting Gibb’s cotton-soft voice carry the quickly engaging melody.

Slowly, the song builds to power-ballad heights, becoming cinematic in scope, as drums, synthetic strings and backing vocals fill out the track. As far as lead singles go, it is easily enough to grab even the casual fans attention.

Robin Gibb’s posthumous release, 50 St. Catherine’s Drive, is due out on September 30 and is comprised of what was intended to be his final solo album, spread out over 17 tracks.
