Chrissie Hynde on Too Much Sex Appeal in Pop: ‘Maybe They Should Just Be Making Porn Films’

If you were looking at today’s pop landscape through Chrissie Hynde‘s eyes, you wouldn’t see much of a difference between pop singers and porn stars.

In a new interview with the London Evening Standard (via Classic Rock), the Pretenders frontwoman goes in on today’s leading vocalists.

“There’s a definite division of what I’d call porn stars trying to make records, and then musicians,” she said, speaking of those performers who play up their sex appeal.

According to Hynde, performers can and should choose not to dial up their sexiness. And if they choose not to, then “maybe they should just be making porn films. Maybe they’re in the wrong game.”
