Doobies: Country Collaboration Puts Them Back In The Top 20

Author: Jim Johnson

The Doobie Brothers are back in the Top 20 with their latest album — the new Southbound collection, which pairs the group with modern country stars. The set hit Number 16 on the Billboard 200 album chart — a marked improvement from the Doobie’s last studio set, 2010’s World Gone Crazy, which despite great reviews, stalled at Number 39.

Southbound — including Michael McDonald back in the fold — features the band joining forces with Blake Shelton, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, and the Zac Brown Band, among others.

The Doobie Brothers’ Southbound tracklisting:

“Black Water’” with Zac Brown Band
“China Grove” with Chris Young
“Jesus Is Just Alright” with Casey James
“Listen To The Music’” with Blake Shelton, Hunter Hayes on guitar
“Long Train Runnin” with Toby Keith
“Nobody” with Charlie Worsham
