‘Timing’ Kept Lana Del Rey & Frank Ocean Off Brian Wilson’s New Album

Equally enigmatic and adored in their own ways, Frank Ocean and Lana Del now have one more thing in common: They’ve both been cut from Brian Wilson’s upcoming album No Pier Pressure. And now we know why.

Why wouldn’t the Beach Boy co-founder include contributions from such beloved artists? Apparently Frank and Lana’s schedules were too hectic to put the final touches on their guest spots.

“[Brian] really loved his voice,” a representative for Wilson told Pitchfork of Ocean. “Maybe another time.”

On the topic of Lana, the representative said, “It was a timing thing as well, he wanted her to come back in to do more work but scheduling didn’t allow.”
