Weatherman Effortlessly Pronounces 58-Letter City Name

By: Jon Corrigan

Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.

No, I didn’t just fall asleep on my keyboard. That’s the name of a real city in the United Kingdom – a city weatherman Liam Dutton absolutely nailed yesterday (Sept. 8) during his live report.

The city is on the island of Angelesey in Wales.

“It may be a mouthful to say, but Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch in north west Wales was one of the warmest places in the UK today,” Channel 4 News wrote on its Facebook page.

Realizing the video had gone viral with over 2-million hits in under 24 hours, Dutton posted the following on his personal Facebook page earlier today:

“Thanks for all the kind comments about last night’s weather forecast and the pronunciation of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.”
