Bryan Adams: “Get Up” Jeff Lynne Inspired New Album Is Out (Video)

Critics and fans alike are buzzing over Bryan Adams’s new album, Get Up!, which is his first set produced by ELO’s Jeff Lynne. Get Up!, which once again pairs Adams with longtime songwriting partner Jim Vallance, features nine new tracks — with the deluxe edition including four acoustic versions of the tunes. Get Up! follows closely on the heels of Adams’ 2014 covers set, The Tracks Of My Years.

The recording of Get Up! was different for Adams, who usually works in-studio with his producers. This time, the raw tracks were laid down by him and Jim Vallance and then passed off to Lynne: “We would send a demo and then Jeff would send back. . . He’d keep whatever he liked on the demo, put his stuff on and then send back a track. One of the things that’s great about musicians getting together and making music together, is the collaboration that makes it interesting. Y’know, I was very curious to see how his sound would meld with my sound and so, this was the perfect way to do it. And then we would get together occasionally in L.A., we’d get together and we’d put some guitars down or, y’know, fix a vocal or, y’know, that kind of thing — and over 15 months, suddenly there was an album.”
