Still Have Your Albums? Vinyl is Hot Again!

A recent article on cnbc.com says people are spending more money on vinyl records, and that more vinyl buyers are millennials.

In 2014 more than 13 million vinyl LPs were sold in America. The first half of 2015 is showing similar sales strength with reports of more than 9 million LPs sold, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.

The last time such high LP sales were reported was in 1989 when nearly 35 million LPs were sold. In 1990 compact disc sales took off and vinyl sales plummeted.

MusicWatch reports that half of vinyl record buyers are under 25 and that men are more likely to buy LPs than women. Experts say millennials are discovering what we’ve always known: that something tangible is preferable to a file on your computer.

My husband still has a large collection of vinyl. Do you? Which albums did you keep?
