Reports coming out of London say The Rolling Stones have been in a studio there for the past week working on tracks for a new album.
A source tells The Sun that they “booked in for a few sessions to lay down some tracks which Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have written. It’s very early stuff — just four or five songs at the moment — but the plan is to make a full new album in the new year. They’ll continue recording demos up until Christmas then get back together in January.” The group will start a Latin American tour in February.
Ronnie Wood told us they would be getting together in December in London, and that there was the possibility of recording. The band’s spokeswoman was unavailable for comment.
The last studio album from the Stones was A Bigger Bang in 2005.
