Carole King will play her first U.K. concert in 27 years headlining the Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time festival in London’s Hyde Park on July 3. Writing on the fest’s website, King said she’d be playing her classic albumTapestry in its entirety.
“I can’t wait to perform Tapestry from beginning to end for the first time . . . in the heart of one of my favorite cities,” she wrote.
She added that she would, however, play more than just the one album.
“I’ll be adding other songs because it would be a very short set if I only didTapestry. I might actually even have it on my social networks where people can offer up their favourites and see if we can get a consensus and help me figure out which songs to add.”
Tapestry, released in 1971, went on to sell 25 million copies.
