By: Jon Corrigan

A new WalletHub study lists Michigan among the worst states for military retirees.

Michigan ranked 39th in the study which included all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

WalletHub analysts examined 20 key metrics, from “number of veterans per capita” to “number of VA health facilities per 10,000 veterans” to “job opportunities for veterans,” in their search to identify the most comfortable states for military retirement.

Alaska, South Dakota and Montana ranked highest, while Oregon, New Jersey and Rhode Island rounded out the bottom.
