Gordon Ramsay Eats the World’s Most Dangerous, Maggot-Filled Cheese

By: Jon Corrigan

Casu Marzu is an Italian Pecorino cheese that’s crawling with maggots and can literally make you ill.

Crazy, right?

Even crazier is some people go out of their way to get their hands on it.

Those affected by the cheese won’t feel the effects until years later, when the maggots build a family in your stomach and chew through your insides, according to FoodBeast.

Because of this, the cheese is banned in the European Union and can only be found on the black market.

Gordon Ramsay sampled Casu Marzu while filming The F Word in Sardinia back in 2008, before the cheese was banned.
