While fielding questions at the Toronto Film Festival for his new film, Legends, Tom Hardy had his sexuality questioned by a reporter from the Daily Xtra.
… And things got really awkward, really fast.
The Daily Xtra reporter, which focuses on LGBT news, asked Hardy:
“In the film, your character Ronnie is very open about his sexuality. But given interviews you’ve done in the past, your own sexuality seems a bit more ambiguous. Do you find it hard for celebrities to talk to media about their sexuality?”
As you can imagine, the actor, who is expecting his first child with wife Charlotte Riley, did not take kindly to the inquiry.
“What on earth are you on about?… I don’t find it difficult for celebrities to talk about their sexuality. Are you asking me about my sexuality?”
When the reporter confirmed the nature of the question, Hardy asked “why” before shutting him down with a harsh “thank you.”
It’s also worth noting the Detroit Tiger’s hat in front of Hardy. Because, go Tigers.
