Anthem For Summer Olympics Released

TEASE: Surprise! Overnight, Katy Perry dropped a new song.

If you haven’t heard the new Katy Perry tune, standby. NBC is about to burn it into your brain.

The song is called “Rise.” NBC will incorporate Katy’s music in promotional packages and during TV coverage of the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The press release from Capitol Records declared, (quote) “Katy has created a powerful message of hope, an anthem of conviction, perseverance, and transformation.”

Katy tweeted at midnight, (quote) “TOGETHER WE #RISE

She added in a written statement, (quote) “Now more than ever, there is a need for our world to unite. I know that together we can rise above the fear – in our country, and around the world.”

For those going to see Ghostbusters this weekend, you’ll probably catch the music video for “Rise.” It plays in theaters starting today.
